A man without family, relatives, friends, or acquaintances who is dying alone, with no hope of recovery and without the ability to communicate is kept alive at all cost. His story is shared by thousands of New Yorkers.
The article in Middlebury Magazine was about a professor mentoring college students, who teach kids about art in interesting ways. They wanted a flow chart and the subject was art, so I drew a Calder mobile.
When applying to attend Minneapolis College of Art & Design in 1973, I asked about a clay or pottery class. They informed me that they had no such class as that was considered ‘a craft’ and we don’t teach such things. Oh well, I always loved clay and worked with it anyway. For a story about major corporations cutting back on health care costs by taking a closer look at the employees and making sure those who have it are eligible.Ended up cutting out paper dolls for the final.
