fun with bubble gum
so here’s a sculpture that will be for sale in my upcoming show. it was a last minute decision to include three dimensional work in the exhibit, and it is one of the few available pieces. a collector came along a couple weeks before my show and bought me out! all of the paintings have either sold or are on hold. pretty cool. so this sculpture is called Adam. the armature is made out of wire and aluminum window screen. it’s covered in bubble gum that i chewed almost entirely by myself. that’s 540 pieces of gum! just for an idea of scale, it’s a little larger than a basket ball.
pepsi mock-up
so here’s a piece i did for pepsi/mountain dew. it was just a mock-up, and didn’t make the cut, but i really liked how it came out anyway:

i don’t do much digital work so this was a fun change of pace. we were supposed to draw these six characters in our own style. the idea was “new school meets old school”. so you’ve got your 1960’s-80’s figures on one side, and your more up to date characters on the other. i might start experimenting with a digital style after working on this piece. we’ll see what happens.
AFTER BIRTH
So…..I have my first solo show coming up!
The opening will be on February 15th 7-9pm at Jack the Pelican Presents in Brooklyn (487 Driggs Ave. b/w N9th and N10th). The opening will double as my 24th birthday party and will be sponsored by PERNOD. They’re providing an open bar, so if you’re in the neighborhood, come by and join the party! Here’s the Gallery’s website: www.jackthepelicanpresents.com and here’s my website: www.robinwilliamsart.com. All the info is posted under the news link on my page. I’ll post some pics from the opening afterwards. It’s gonna be off the CHAIN!!!!
